Sarir is a highly experienced analytical research scientist with a proven track record of bioanalytical research and methodological expertise including method development, FDA/MHRA validations, data processing and interpretation. Sarir has over 15 years of experience working as a research scientist and post-doctoral researcher, predominately at the University of Nottingham.
Sarir's PhD studies were in neuroscience at University of Nottingham, and involved a study of the synthesis and release of endocannabinoids in the rat central nervous system. Key features of this research were the successful development of an LC-MS/MS analytical method (based on multiple reaction monitoring) for sensitive and accurate measurement of endocannabinoids in biological samples and the application of this method to investigate synthesis and release of these molecules in rat cortical slices and incubation medium in vitro.
Sarir's BSc was in Nutrition at Tabriz University of medical Sciences, Iran (1992-1996). After graduation, Sarir worked in a food quality control laboratory performing chemical and microbiological tests to specified quality standards, followed by working as a scientist in a soft drink manufacturing company in Iran before moving to UK.
